What exactly am I buying?
A pass: prepaid grading for one card at the 15-business-day tier, in the housing you chose. Your passes live on your account.
How do I use a pass?
From February 1 the grading calendar opens. Reserve an open day up to a year ahead, assign one pass per card, and ship your cards to arrive that day. Each day has a capacity; a full day grays out.
Do I have to book right away? Do passes expire?
No, and no. A pass holds its value until you use it, and you choose the day: before a product release, after a big game, ahead of a show, whenever suits you.
Can I give a pass as a gift?
Yes. From My Passes, send an unused pass to anyone by email; they accept, and it’s theirs. The pre sale runs through the holidays, and a pass never expires.
Can I get a refund?
All sales are final. If you change your mind, transfer the pass to another account from My Passes.
Who grades my card?
An HGA grader, blind: the grader never knows whose card it is. Every card is graded to HGA’s published standard and released by a senior grader. The standard is on the Standards tab, in full.
What can I send?
Any sports card or TCG card, any size. HGA Poly has a case for every size on the market, vintage to booklets, and if yours doesn’t exist yet, we make it. HGA Glass is offered for every size too.
Can I see my cards while they’re with HGA?
Yes. Your portal tracks every step live, from delivery to the Reveal. You get a photo of your package when it arrives, a video of us opening it and removing your cards, high-resolution images of each card on arrival, and final images of each graded card in its housing. Grading itself is tracked as status. Then the Reveal: you turn each slab over live and see the grade, the subgrades and the Grade Report.
What if my card is lost or damaged?
If a card is lost or damaged while in our care, we replace it or pay it out. Every time. Every step is documented in your portal, from the photo of your box on arrival to the final images of the slab.
Who pays for shipping?
You choose the shipping, both directions, and pay for it at checkout when you reserve your grading day. The pass covers the grading, the report and the case.
What does “delivery to reveal” mean?
The 15-business-day clock starts the day the carrier delivers your cards to HGA and ends when your grade is revealed in your portal. If we miss it, the full pre-sale price is credited automatically.
Is the autograph graded?
Yes, free, on every autographed card. An autograph 10 goes on the label. Anything less stays in your Grade Report and off the label, so the autograph grade can only add to your card, never take away from it.
What if my card grades Flawless?
A perfect 10 on every subgrade is HGA Flawless. In Poly, it moves to HGA Glass at no charge, with the Flawless label and the Flawless Reveal. In Glass, it gets the label and the Reveal.
What is the chip in the label?
An NFT chip that ties the slab to its permanent record. Tap the label with your phone and the record opens: grade, subgrades, images and the Grade Report. A swapped label or case won’t match its record.
What about cards over $10,000?
There is no upcharge up to $10,000 in card value. Above that, insurance handling is $200 per $10,000, paid when you reserve. The pass still covers the grade.
Who is behind HGA?
HGA is a uCollect company, based in Chandler, Arizona. uCollect owns HGA; HGA grades independently, to its published standard, and does not buy, sell or own cards.
What about slower, cheaper tiers?
February 1 is our full launch. Standard turnaround tiers and their prices publish before then. The pre sale sells one thing: the 15-business-day tier, at a price that does not come back.
By purchasing you agree to the HGA pre-sale terms. All sales final. Prices, dates and limits are as published on this page at the time of purchase.
